There used to be a lot of jobs in the United States but now the national unemployment rate has climbed a full percentage point over the last year to 5.5 percent in May, according to the Labor Department. This study does not include people who have been jobless for many years who simply have given up looking for work. Add in those people and the so-called underemployment rate rises to 9.7 percent, up from 8.3 percent in May 2007. Coca-Cola Enterprises Inc. employees were told that nearly 300 jobs in accounts payable and accounts receivable would be soon outsourced overseas. "We had a meeting with employees to let them know we intend to outsource" 78 finance department jobs from the Dallas office, he said. An additional 150 jobs could be lost in the Tampa, Fla., area and 70 workers could be furloughed in Toronto, the company said. One Dallas worker whose job would be eliminated said employees were stung by the news because after the May announcement, "we just worked our [behinds] off for them to show 'this is what you're getting with us.' " To Learn More about U.S. Finance Workers Losing Employment What does this mean to the U.S. economy? U.S. families living in poverty, less students spending thousands of dollars on education to become a skilled worker (why should they spend time and money for a job that won't be there in a couple of years because of outsourcing).
U.S. parents have to explain to their children the reasons they can't afford health insurance, why there are no jobs and why they were laid off in later life at the time they most needed to be employed. Many U.S. many families are headed into a downward spiral and they can't compete with soaring prices for food, gasoline, taxes, and healthcare. Most workers are simply overwhelmed as the cost of living increases but their paychecks don't increase. When a U.S. worker loses their job, the whole structure of American living can be affected. With no jobs, taxes can't be paid on homes (which can mean loss of someplace to live), which also means city improvement such as road building and maintenance can't be paid for. What we have is an increased workforce but not enough jobs. This problem started with outsourcing to countries such as India. American laws need to change so we can provide jobs for Americans.
U.S. workers are losing more than the American Dream, they are losing their ability to work and provide for their families. |

2) Finding opportunities– A good Washington tax attorney can also demonstrate creativity by looking for and finding, various loopholes in tax laws that you can use to solve your problems. There is also something to be said for the creativity of a Washington tax attorney who can find a loophole in the complaint filed by the IRS itself. There are a lot of cases which have been dismissed due to the fact that the IRS has made a mistake in filing and a person can get off just because of a technical detail.
