It is the job of a human resources assistant to look after the employee records first and foremost. This information includes the name, address, job title, and the health insurance benefits as well as any other benefits that apply. The information has to be kept up therefore it is the job of the human resources assistant to make sure that they are updating information daily. They managers may also ask for employee reports and this is their responsibility of the assistant as well. Not only are they responsible for help around the office, they are responsible for getting qualified applicants for positions as well as notifying public about job openings. They are sometimes involved in the hiring, but most often their job is just to get qualified people into the business for the interviewing process.

When applicants come into the business for applications it is the responsibility of the human resources assistant to make sure that they are informed about company rules, given any necessary tests, as well as any paper work that needs to be filled out. They also collect the information on the person’s qualifications such as education. They are responsible for obtaining information about the person’s references as well. They should have a clear speaking voice, well dressed, and have strong computer skills. Their telephone personality is also highly important because they are contacting people by phone frequently. This is especially important when talking to people who are accepting jobs within the business because often the human resources assistant is their first impression of the business. It is highly important for people in this position to keep that in mind and always remain professional as well as organized.
